Demi Lovato said she’s using her pronouns again.
In an appearance at Spout podcasthost Tamara Dhia admitted to Lovato, who has been using their/their pronouns since May 2021, that she still doesn’t “get enough” using their/their pronouns.
“Yeah, so, they/they’re, um, I’ve adopted her/his pronouns again,” Lovato said. “Well, for me, I’m such a fluid person. I felt that, especially last year, my energy was balanced in my masculine and feminine energy, so that when I was faced with the choice of going into the bathroom and it said ‘women and ‘men,’ I didn’t I felt like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t necessarily feel like a woman. I didn’t feel like a man.”
“I just felt human. And that’s it for me. It’s just, like, you feel human at your core,” he continued.
Lovato said she recently feels more feminine again, which prompted her to return to her pronouns.
“I think what’s important is that nobody’s perfect,” Lovato said. “Everyone gets pronouns mixed up at some point, and especially when people are learning. It’s all about respect.”
Lovato updated her Instagram bio to reflect her new pronouns. It now reads “they/them/she/her”.
