APENFT The Foundation announces that the second call of the $100 million Art Dream Fund will begin on August 1st and registrations will close on October 30th. The theme of this year’s invitation is “Post-Human Era”. This theme seeks to explore whether the future of humanity can transcend traditional egocentric humanism and how humans should place themselves in a complex ecosystem consisting of non-human animals, plants and cyborgs. Winners will be eligible to win a prize of over $100,000. In addition to the prizes, creators will also enjoy the opportunity to build their art studios in The Sandbox, a metaverse launched by APENFT and TRON. Creators will also be able to participate in APENFT-curated annual online and offline exhibitions, workshops, artist residencies and other educational events.

This call is open to creators of any age, nationality (residents of UN and OFAC approved countries or territories are not eligible), and profession. It welcomes digital artwork submitted by individuals and groups in a variety of media, including video, animation, virtual reality, augmented reality, sound art, and data-driven art, among others.
“The most essential quality that distinguishes us from other calls is our core values - great inclusiveness and openness – which are also the values that govern the world of NFTs; here, every good project has a chance to be seen,” he stressed Sydney Xiong. Director of the APENFT Foundation. “We are always committed to nurturing and supporting young artists and creators who are open-minded, bold, imaginative and able to bring new vitality to the realm of art.”
That same openness and inclusiveness permeates the Art Dream Fund review process. This year’s jury consists of more than ten artists, curators, auction experts, art professionals and financial professionals. We can expect that this diversity in panel selections will introduce views from different fields such as art, finance, technology and design, allowing for a more comprehensive evaluation of submissions. Expert panels include Philip Tinari (Director of the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art), Jonathan Crockett (President of Asia at Phillips), Josh Baer (Art Consultant), Sylvain Levy (renowned collector) and Conlan Rios (Founder of Async Art). the nomination and selection panel includes Cheng Ran (Contemporary Artist), Laura Shao from the Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Kenny Schachter (Art Writer), Ciara Sun (Co-Founder of C² Ventures), Claire Huang (Async Art Advisor & Columnist), Mimi Nguyen (Lecturer at University of the Arts London). Together with community members, the Nomination and Selection Committee will nominate 50 finalists based on their votes.
With the theme of ‘Second Life’, last year’s open call received over 500 artworks, among which Infinite Falling by WMD Studio won first prize and submissions by Verdi Jackson, Kong, Allyn Belfred and Chengcheng Shi won the prizes innovation. In January 2022, all prize-winning artworks were sold at an auction event at the online exhibition co-organized by APENFT and LiveArtX at Cryptovoxels. This year, in addition to the three existing awards, APENFT partnered with Async Art to create the ‘Async Visual-Audio Award’ for Programmable Art to encourage experimentation and innovation in interactive art forms. As Conlan Rios, Founder of Async Art expressed,
“Async Art provides tools for anyone to create audio-visual interactive NFTs, without the need for coding and programming knowledge. Through the Async Visual-Audio Award, we invite artists to join us in upending the existing concept of art and pave the way for a whole new class of programmable media. This is just the beginning, but we think these simple building blocks will open up a world of possibilities for creators out there, and we’re really excited to see the ingenious ways people could use it.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to attend workshops co-organized by APENFT and Async Art and potentially receive NFT airdrops based on Blueprints.

Forum dates and guests will be announced soon. Please stay tuned.
