Beutler and Newhouse, who also voted to impeach Trump, will face tough primaries on Tuesday as well. Both, like Meijer, voted in favour to establish an independent commission to investigate the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Beutler will face several opponents in the primary for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District, including Army Special Forces veteran Joe Kent, who received the former President’s endorsement.
Kent claims momentum in his race because “people are still furious” that he voted to impeach Trump.
The Republican establishment wants the 22nd to be a referendum against America 1st, they want controlled weak Republicans who vote as they are told.
Last week 2.5 million was spent against me b/c I’m ahead in the polls and Beutler might not be in the top 2.

Meanwhile, Newhouse said his impeachment vote was due to Trump’s “inaction” during the uprising and added that “our country needs a leader and President Trump has failed to fulfill his oath of office.”
He’s facing former police chief Lauren Culp in the primary for Washington’s 4th congressional district. Culp also received an endorsement from the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in 2024. The two will face six other candidates (5 Republicans and 1 Democrat).
“Having the support of President Trump is huge,” Culp said he said.
The media only likes to point out that Newhouse voted to impeach President Trump because I’m running against him. They ignore his vote with Democrats 40-50% of the time, fund Planned Parenthood to kill babies, pass red flag laws, etc. At its core is D.

Just over a month ago, Representative Tom Rice was soundly defeated in the Republican primary for South Carolina’s 7th District. Rice lost to Russell Frye, the South Carolina state House Majority Whip who won Trump’s endorsement by doubling his votes.
