Llangollen, a historic Upperville, Virginia estate that dates back to 1795, is on the market for $27.5 million.
Refers to National Register of Historic Places, or NRHP, in August 2017, the 1,100-acre property is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition to the 12,500-square-foot main mansion, there are 17 other buildings on the property.
The house is owned by Donald Brennan, former head of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, Bloomberg reported in 2019. He bought the residence in 2006 for $22 million.
“When I first saw Llangollen, it was just magical. I’ve never seen a structure so comfortable in its setting before,” Brennan told Insider via registration agent, Peter Leonard-Morgan with Sotheby’s International Realty.
Brennan first listed the home for sale in August 2019 for $34 million, recording records projection. Over the next two years, its price was gradually reduced by $6.5 million, bringing it to its current price of $27.5 million.
