One post shared on Facebook Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines was arrested by the US military for “treason and murder for hire”.
Verdict: Wrong
There is no evidence to suggest that Haines was arrested. The claim comes from a satirical website.

The crime of treason is defined as “waging war against the United States” or “adhering to the enemies of the United States, giving them aid and comfort,” according to the National Constitution Center. A serious crime, treason must be proven through “open confession in court” or by “testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act,” the center says.
A post shared on Facebook claims that Haynes was recently arrested by the US military on charges of treason and “murder for hire”. The post shows a screenshot of a news article with text claiming she was arrested Tuesday morning by members of the US Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG), one of whom shot Haynes in the arm when she resisted arrest.
The claim is baseless. Check the fact found there is no reliable news to suggest that Haynes was arrested on any charges. There is no mention of her alleged arrest in JAG Website or the organization social media pages. Likewise, neither Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defense nor the Office of the Director of National Intelligence mentioned anything about her alleged booking on their respective websites.
A keyword search reveals that the claim comes from a Article 3 August was posted on the satirical website Real Raw News. The website includes a disclaimer regarding “About us” page indicating that it “contains humor, parody and satire.” (RELATED: No, The Military Didn’t Execute Jen O’Malley)
