Erling Haaland’s anticipated Premier League debut this weekend will likely have everyone watching with intrigue, but fans don’t rate him high enough to make a transfer squad.

West Ham have the pleasure of trying to keep the Norwegian out when City begin their title defense on Sunday afternoon, and many fans will be hoping to see him score for the Fantasy Premier League sides.

Despite his popularity in FPL, where almost 44% of players have picked him, he has missed out on a squad made up of players who have moved on this summer.

Sky Sports have shared the squad, with Chelsea new boy Raheem Sterling, Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Tottenham Hotspur’s latest striker Richarlison making up the top three.

“Don’t tell me they haven’t done it on purpose,” asked one fan, “How can you honestly not pick Haaland?

“It is easily the biggest high-profile signing to come to the Premier League for years.”

“Nunez over Haaland, you might be high when you decide on that.” another was added.

“Don’t ever tell me there’s no city bias EVER again,” said a third, apparently meaning an anti-city bias.

A fourth opinion said: “Haaland guarantees Man City the title so I don’t know how he’s not in it, [Gabriel] Jesus should be ahead of Richarlison, but other than that I’d say it’s not a bad poll.”

And Jesus, who is the most featured player in FPL, was the other missing player that many took issue with, particularly Arsenal fans who were not happy to see Richarlison in front of their man.

“Arsenal fans don’t bite, they know what they’re doing,” said one such fan.

And one fan who didn’t take the advice added: “I mean who picks Richarlison over Jesus, I mean seriously. What makes anyone think he’s the best player?

“Look at all the stats, Jesus wins hands down and there’s also the small matter of Jesus being £15m cheaper, let that sink in for a minute. Jesus can play in all 3 positions.”

In the past, supporters of Mikel Arteta’s side have been accused of being very good at online polls, and they’ve often been good at it.

But it seems this time their north London rivals have been tough with four of Antonio Conte’s summer signings making the voted XI.
