Everton: Lampard’s side lost their best player in Richarlison, who joined Tottenham in the summer, and it looks like they still haven’t replaced him. As the coach himself said in the press conference before the match, “We lost Richarlison, a versatile striker who knew how to perform well in front of the goal. We know the area in which we need to strengthen the roster. We will play the first match with Rondon suspended, obviously in attack we will have to look for some signings.” This is especially true now that striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be out for six weeks as well.
Chelsea: It’s been a summer of change at Chelsea after new owner Todd Boehly joined the club and took charge of the transfers. Tuchel’s side lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers and then Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter on loan until the end of the season. Chelsea then signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and then on Friday announced the signing of Mark Cukurella from Brighton. It will be difficult to see them all start together at the same time in these early weeks of Premier League football, but Thomas Tuchel will have to work to improve the confidence of the squad as soon as possible after the summer revolution.
