To deal with the growing migration crisis in the Channel, the UK needs to launch nothing less than a Brexit 2.0 project to free itself from the remaining globalist constraints that tie the government’s hands and prevent it from delivering on its promise to ‘take back control’ of the border, said Brexit leader Nigel Farage.
As more than a thousand more illegals hit British beaches this week, Nigel ‘Mr Brexit’ Farage called on the government to finally move away from the European Court of Human Rights and other asylum checks from institutions such as the United Nations.
Speaking from GB News’ Farage at Large show from Bognor Regis in southern England, the Brexit campaigner said: “We will never deal with this if we remain part of the European Convention on Human Rights, which the court can strike down .
“We will never deal with this as long as we are signatories to certain United Nations declarations, some of which are over 70 years old and outdated.
“I’ll put it to you what we need is Brexit 2.0 to really take back control of our borders, that’s my view.”
They come now day and night.

Although the UK officially left the European Union in 2020, the country is still part of the Council of Europe and thus its subsidiary, the European Court of Human Rights, as they are technically separate institutions from the EU. However, many, including of Farage, see little distinction given that they share the same EU flag, the same anthem and are based on the same ‘European Quarter’ campus in Strasbourg, France.
The issue of Britain’s continued membership of the ECHR has been thrust into the political debate around illegal immigration after the European court issued a last-minute injunction to prevent a deportation flight of illegal aliens to Rwanda in June.
The government’s policy on Rwanda, which would have seen illegal immigrants sent to have their asylum claims processed in the East African nation rather than being allowed to remain on British soil in the interim, has been put on hold for at least until the fall, amid further legal challenges at home.
So far, none of the candidates running to replace Boris Johnson as prime minister, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and former chancellor Rishi Sunak have pledged to take Britain out of the ECHR, although both have said they would consider it as selection.
On Thursday, further 388 Illegal migrants were brought ashore by the UK Border Force in Dover, adding to the 696 disembarked on Monday, the highest daily figure of the year.

While the flow of illegals crossing the Channel appeared to have slowed in July after a major people-smuggling operation went bust, GB News revealed this week that an Albanian people-trafficking ring has apparently taken over operations and has even started advertising illegal crossings to Chinese social media platform TikTok.
Last week, a report by the independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration found that illegal crossings have become so rampant that border guards are failing to complete even the most basic due diligence, such as taking names and fingerprints. The failures have seen many illegals disappear into the country after escaping from taxpayer-funded hotel accommodation, raising the specter of a potential national security threat.
“We have a population crisis in this country, it’s out of control and it’s directly because of open borders,” said Nigel Farage he said on Thursday.
“No one has the courage to face it because once you put your head above the parapet and talk about these issues, they make your life hell. They made my life hell on this for years… luckily, unlike normal people, I couldn’t care less.’
