On Friday, MSNBC host Joy Reid attacked Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for what she called the “urbanization” of the state’s education system, referring to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Reed called it a “white nationalist environment” and called it a ban on making “white kids feel uncomfortable in school.”

“I see the most Orbanization in someone like DeSantis who has this kind of propaganda school that he sends teachers to in the summer, where they teach them that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington opposed slavery and don’t bother to mention that they owned slaves. , where it essentially forces teachers to accept that indoctrination,” Reed said.

“He fired a US state attorney who refused to prosecute people related to abortion,” he continued. Where he’s doing these overtly authoritarian kinds of Orbanist things, promoting what looks like a version of white replacement theory, that you can’t make white kids feel uncomfortable in school, that you can’t say anything about racism in the workplace, you have to to create such a white nationalist environment everywhere or elsewhere.”
