President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19 after recovering from a case

“The President continues to feel very well,” wrote Dr. Kevin O’Connor. “Given his recovery positivity that we reported last Saturday, we have continued daily monitoring. This morning, the SARS-CoV-2 antigen test was negative. Out of caution, the President will continue his strict isolation measures pending a second negative test as previously described’.

While in isolation, the President has largely participated in public events from the White House residence. On two occasions, he delivered socially distanced remarks in a restricted pool from the Blue Room balcony, announcing a successful strike that killed al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri on Monday and signing two bills to crackdown on Covid fraud -19.

The president and first lady Jill Biden are set to travel Monday to visit Kentucky after deadly flooding in the eastern part of the state killed dozens of people and devastated the region.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “People with a recurrence of COVID-19 symptoms or a new positive virus test after testing negative should restart isolation and self-isolate again for at least 5 days.”

During Biden’s first bout with the illness, he experienced mild symptoms, including a runny nose, fatigue, high temperature and cough, according to his doctor. The five-day course of Paxlovid completed by the President requires a prescription and is available through an emergency use authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of mild to moderate Covid-19 in people 12 years of age and older who are at high risk of severe disease.

The CDC issued a health alert to doctors on May 24, advising that symptoms of Covid-19 sometimes recur and that the infection can still occur in some people, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or treated with drugs such as Paxlovid. The CDC said most of the recoveries involve mild illness and there have been no reports of severe illness.

Biden is fully vaccinated and received two booster shots. He received the first two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine before its launch in January 2021, his first booster in September and the second booster in March.
