It’s an Australia-England women’s doubles final on grass this morning with the hosts leading 7-2 after four games.

England’s Sophie Tolchard is looking to go one better than her brother Sam who lost in the men’s final on Tuesday.

The Tolchards come from sporting royalty. In addition to her brother, their grandfather Tommy represented England in bowls, their father Ray played at Wimbledon as a junior tennis player and umpired 40 first-class cricket matches.

While uncles Roger and Jeff Tolchard, both played first-class cricket for Leicestershire and Roger played four Tests for England.

Both she and partner Amy Pharoah already have Commonwealth golds – Sophie in triples in 2014 and Amy in pairs in 2010.

But so does Australia’s Ellen Ryan, who won a memorable singles gold earlier this week. He stars alongside Kristina Krstic.
