A man has been shot dead in Albuquerque and could be the latest victim in a suspected Muslim serial killing in New Mexico’s largest city.
Albuquerque Police was announced that a young, unidentified Muslim man was shot and killed on Friday night.
Police did not release any other information about the man or reveal the circumstances of the killing, but said he was found dead at the scene and appeared to be in his twenties.
He was the fourth Muslim to be killed in a series of unsolved murders.
Police in New Mexico and federal agencies are investigating whether the killings are connected, and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham described them as “targeted killings”.

Reuters reports that in the other recent killings of Muslim men in New Mexico’s largest city, the victims were ambushed and shot without warning, police said.
Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, 27, a Pakistani immigrant and planning director for the city of Espanola, was shot Monday outside his Albuquerque apartment complex in early August.
Aftab Hussein, 41, was found shot to death on July 26 near the Albuquerque International District. He attended the same mosque as Hussain.

The shooting of 62-year-old Afghani immigrant Mohammad Ahmadi on Nov. 7, 2021, in the parking lot of a halal supermarket he managed is the fourth killing that detectives are trying to determine if related to the most recent killings, Albuquerque said. .
The FBI is assisting in the murder investigation.
Governor Grisham said Twitter that the killings were “deeply infuriating and utterly intolerable.”
He added: We will continue to do all we can to support the Muslim community of Albuquerque and greater New Mexico during this difficult time. You are New Mexicans, you are welcome here and we stand by you.”
Albuquerque’s police chief has announced a $20,000 reward for any tips that help solve the murders.
