CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Michael Brind’Amour has resigned as Hockey Canada’s board chairman amid scrutiny of the organization’s handling of sexual assault allegations against members of former men’s teams.

Hockey Canada announced his resignation in a statement on Saturday.

“I listened carefully and attentively to Canadians’ feedback about the culture of our sport and organization, as well as our actions and leadership,” Brind’Amour said in the statement. “I understand that the actions we have taken in recent weeks are part of the solution.
