Manchester United Scott McTominay was mercilessly criticized by fans after his disastrous display against Brighton on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s reign as Man United manager got off to the worst possible start as his side fell to Graham Potter’s Brighton at Old Trafford.
The home side pulled one back with an own goal from Alexis Mac Allister but were unable to find an all-important equaliser.
Manchester United were out of contention, with their midfield exposed and the fans singled out McTominay, who failed to get out into the middle of the park.
He was lucky to avoid a red card for his reckless tackle on Moises Caicedo, as Ten Haag eventually brought him down in the 77th minute.
Manchester United fans made their feelings known about McTominay’s poor performance on social media.
I look forward to the day when I don’t have to see Mctominay again

Nothing sums up Scott McTominay better than receiving a yellow card after trying to pass a football.

As long as McTominay is a starting midfielder we will die of transfers

#mufc Midfield problem there in a microcosm: McTominay needed six touches in the final third, lost the ball and was booked.

This game is a shock reality for Erik ten Hag that no matter how good a tactician he is, Fred and McTominay will NEVER work.
Manchester United have NO midfield.

Scott McTominay is the worst midfielder in the Premier League and it’s not close.

Speaking after Man United’s 2-1 defeat by Brighton, Roy Keane called out McTominay – claiming he is not “good enough”.
“Fred and McTominay, not good enough,” he told Sky Sports. “They won’t make Man United compete at the top.”
