Republican senators have warned that Democrats will “pay the price” for passing the $700 billion “Cut Inflation” bill.

On Sunday, the Democratic-controlled Senate approved the massive spending package, which is said to be aimed at reducing the deficit and curbing inflation while “extending enhanced Obamacare subsidies, spending more than $300 billion on climate change programs and allowing on Medicare to negotiate drug prices,” according to Breitbart News.

The bill passed along party lines after moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) reached a deal with President Joe Biden after months of resistance. Vice President Kamala Harris gave the tiebreaker.

In a statement after the vote, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee said Democrats would face consequences in November’s midterm elections.

“Democrats will pay the price in November for raising taxes on families during a recession,” McDaniel told Breitbart News.

Similarly, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Democrats essentially catered to their “radical leftist base at the expense of middle-class Americans.”

“The Schumer-Manchin bill will raise inflation and prices, hit small businesses and American manufacturing, raise the price of gas, and burden the IRS on Americans, all while raising taxes on Americans in almost every tax bracket, including those making less than $400,000 a year,” Cruz he said in a statement.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) called the bill “a special kind of stupid” in a statement on Twitter.

“It’s a special kind of stupid to raise taxes during both a recession and inflation—that’s called stagflation, which is what we have right now as a result of President Biden’s policies,” Kennedy tweeted.

“Democrats’ reckless tax and spending plan includes nearly $370 billion in Green New Deal funding, $64 billion in Obamacare and hundreds of billions in new taxes on American businesses and manufacturers,” tweeted Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R- TN).

“The spending spree also includes $80 billion to double the number of IRS agents — effectively giving every American a personal tax auditor. We need to cut taxes, not raise them,” he added. “It’s a shame that Senate Democrats are pushing a socialist agenda that will make life harder and more expensive for Tennesseans.”

The House Freedom Caucus was equally upset by the bill’s passage, calling it Democrats’ handing out a socialist Green New Deal for the country as Americans face runaway inflation.

“Many nonpartisan experts all agree that this legislation will not reduce inflation, and many predict it will have the opposite impact,” the caucus said. “Worse, not only does this bill direct $369 billion in handouts to climate change special interests, it does so on the backs of the American taxpayer.”

“To finance their socialist agenda, Democrats are overspending the Internal Revenue Service with $80 billion (six times the agency’s annual budget) to create an army of 87,000 new enforcement officers to target Americans with up to a million additional audits annually to taxpayers earning less than $200,000 – the same middle class suffering the most from Bidenomics’ skyrocketing inflation,” he added.
