LED Behavior on your Orbi WiFi System
Below given table describes the LED behavior for an Orbi satellite and Orbi router.
Power LED
- If it indicates Solid Green then it means that your device is power on.
- Solid amber means the satellite or router is still booting.
- If it shows blinking amber then it means that the device is resetting back to factory default settings.
- Just in case the light is blinking red then it means that firmware is corrupted.
- If it is off then it means power to the device is not supplied properly.
Router Ring LED
- If it shows Pulsing white then it means that router is booting or someone in your family press the Sync button accidently.
- In case it is Off then it means that the router is working properly and finished with the booting process.
- When it indicates Solid White then it indicates that the router is reset back to factory default settings.
- If it depicts Solid Magenta then it means that router is not able to connect to the internet.
Satellite Ring LED
- Pulsing White then it means that your satellite is still booting.
- If it is Blue for three minutes then it means that the connection between router and satellite is pretty good.
- In case the ring LED is Amber for three minutes then it means that the connection between the router and satellite is fair.
- Magenta means that the satellite failed to sync your wireless router.
- Off then it means that your router is working normally.
Power LED
- If power LED is Solid Green then it means that the device is power on.
- If it indicates Solid Amber then it indicates the satellite is still booting.
- Blinking Amber means the satellite is resetting back to its factory default settings.
- Flashing Red then it means that the firmware of the device is corrupted.
- If it is power Off then it means that the power is not supplied yet.
Add-on Satellite ring LED
Note down – Optional add-on satellites are sold separately that can be added easily to your Orbi network.
- If it indicates Pulsing white then it means that the satellite is still booting.
- Solid white means that the satellite is ready to sync to the router.
- In case it is Blue for three minutes then it means that the connection between the satellite and the router is quite good.
- If it is Amber for three minutes then it indicates that the connection between satellite and the router is pretty fair.
- If the light indicates Magenta then it means that the satellite is not connected to the router properly and is not getting a valid IP address.
- Power light Off means that the satellite synced to the router and also working normally.
Connect Your Router
- Unplug the modem’s power, leaving it connected to the wall jack for Internet service.
- Plug in your modem – turn it on. And connect it to internet port of your router with the yellow Ethernet cable.
- Next, connect the power adapter to the router and plug the power adapter into an electric wall outlet.
- In case the Power LED does not light, press the Power (On/Off) button.
Steps Sync a Satellite from an Orbi WiFi System
- Place your satellite and connect it to a damaged-free power source.
Note: In case the Power LED on the back of the satellite does not blink, then hit theOn/Offbutton.
- Moreover, if the light is blue then Orbi router and satellite successfully synced. If the light is Amber then the Orbi router and satellite successfully synced.
- If the light is Magenta then the Orbi router and satellite failed to sync.
Log into the Router and Add Satellites to Your Network
- Launch a web browser from a device that is connected to your Orbi network properly.
- Enter Orbi setup URL.
- When a login window appears enter the router admin username and Orbi admin login password.
- When the basic home page displays choose Add Orbi Satellite.
- Follow the 0n-screen instructions to place your satellite. Connect it to an electrical outlet
- Click the next button and press the Sync button on your satellite.
