A lawyer representing Mr Jones said he had already faced fallout over the claims after he was pushed from the platforms in 2018, losing an audience of millions.
Responding to Jones’ conspiracy theories, Heslin says, “I wish it were true. I wish Jesse was alive. It’s not like that. He’s not here with us.”
He continues: “I learned the observations that it didn’t happen, that Jesse didn’t die, in 2013.”
“When it’s stated that Jesse’s death was faked, it’s an indication that he didn’t exist. He did it. For six and a half years.”
Heslin is in tears and says his appearance in court “reopens wounds that were never closed.”
He adds: “After this test, I hope to put it behind me.”
