Jurgen Klopp blamed the “dry” pitch for Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
Mo Salah leveled matters in the 80th minute to prevent a lost start for Liverpool. But the Reds, fresh from winning the Community Shield last week, were not at their usual level and that led to another excuse from Klopp.
“The best thing is the result actually, that we get a point from a very bad game from my side.”
“It (Thiago’s injury) looks like a bad hamstring.”

“The best thing about the game is the result,” Klopp told BT Sport’s Des Kelly after the draw.
“A very bad game. How can this happen? The attitude was not right at the beginning. We tried to react after 15 minutes. The pitch was dry, things like that. Really difficult.” [BT]

He also claimed BT Sport ordered a game to end early, made two mistakes from Alisson on “cold feet” and was critical of having to play Real Madrid in their Group B stage two years ago.

Next up for Liverpool is the first home game of the season against Crystal Palace, who travel to Anfield next Monday having been beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in their opening game of the season.
They then host Manchester United in a huge clash on Merseyside on August 22.
