Former President Trump’s track record of endorsing winning candidates continued this week, as he has in the past News anchor and journalist Kari Lake won a close race in the Republican primary for governor of Arizona. The race between Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson remained too close to call until Thursday, two days after Election Day, when The Associated Press called the race for Lake.

Lake will now face Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs in the November general election.

While mail-in ballots received before Election Day gave Robson an early lead, election results on election day and Maricopa County releasing their mail-in ballot results gave Lake the win.

The race has become something of a referendum between Lake, Trump’s running mate, and Robson, who has been backed by former Vice President Mike Pence, current Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Trump candidates won several races in Arizona, including Senate, Secretary of State, Attorney General, US House and United States House seats. Arizona was a hotbed in the 2020 election and will surely be again in 2024.

Lake has been very candid about her views on the 2020 election. She has stated that it will decertify Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in Arizona, saying, “He lost the election and shouldn’t have been in the White House.”

Lake also wasn’t afraid to take apart the leftist media for what they’re trying to convey.

The final round of primaries are going well for the Trump candidates

Tuesday night’s final round of primaries was good for Trump-endorsed candidates. Except for Arizona, candidates in Michigan did well.

Representative Peter Meijer, one of the few House Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump, lost his primary race to former Trump administration official John Gibbs.

Those who voted for impeachment are selected one by one with Meijer being the last. Trump took to his own social media platform Truth Social and wrote: “Not a good time for the defendants – 7 down, 3 to go!” Tudor Dixon won the GOP primary and will face Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in November.

Nationally, it was a good night to be a Trump candidate. Of the 42 endorsements Trump gave to it the most recent qualifying round, 32 won their respective matches and some may still be pending.

Democrats are gearing up for November

For Democrats, election night this fall may feel a lot like Tuesday. Democrats they have pinned their hopes on things like its overthrow Roe v. Wade and the January 6th hearings, however these are not priorities for the Americans. Soaring inflation and high gas and food prices are.

Joe Biden’s consistently low approval numbers have Democrats vocal that they don’t want him to run again in 2024, and many are shying away from inviting him to campaign with them.

Another takeaway from Tuesday night’s primaries: while Democrats and the media try to play down Donald Trump’s influence in the Republican Party, there’s no doubt that he’s very much in play. Biden’s unpopularity combined with Trump’s winning record could be a deadly combination for Democrats.

Several more states have primaries in the coming weeks, including Wyoming, where Liz Cheney trails challenger Harriet Hageman by about 20 points. “Number 8” for Trump could be waiting in the wings.
