You can play through Far Cry 6 for free this weekend

Welcome to the weekend. Whether you’re working today or out, we’ve got a range of offers that may be of interest to you. In the Epic Games Store on PCyou can play as much as possible Far Cry 6 as you can fit in this weekend. The showcase offers an extended free trial of Ubisoft’s latest open-world first-person shooter. Offers for Far Cry 6 they’re not too uncommon these days (although the PC version has fewer discounts than the console versions), and yet, it’s really hard to beat the current cost: $0.00. The trial version of the game is also available on Xbox and PlayStation players. You do not need any kind of subscription to PlayStation consoles to access the free trial. On Xbox, however, you’ll need Xbox Live Gold (or its modern equivalent, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate).

Typically, we like to provide context about the deals we’re promoting so you can make an informed purchase. This is not so necessary for a free. It is worth noting that Far Cry 6 offers more of the same great combat and exploration. In Diego Arguello’s analysis of the game’s history, Far Cry 6 is one of the few AAA games set in Latin America, though the narrative and handling of cultural depictions are hit or miss. If you can figure this out, it might be a good use of your free time this weekend.

Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 puts you in the Cuban-inspired Yara area. It’s the latest in Ubisoft’s open-world, first-person franchise.

If you’re planning to go on vacation this summer or just want to relax at home with a few books, the latest Kindle Paperwhite might be the perfect gadget to add to your repertoire. At Best Buy, this model is $45 off, it costs $94.99 through Saturday night. That’s exactly the lowest price we’ve seen the 2021 Kindle Paperwhite sell for.

As for why it’s the e-reader to buy over the previous generation, it features USB-C charging, a larger 6.8-inch backlit screen, and adjustable screen color temperature. It has waterproofing in common with the latest generation Paperwhite. Read our review.

2021 Kindle Paperwhite (8GB)

Amazon’s new Kindle Paperwhite features a 6.8-inch, E Ink display with adjustable color temperature for nighttime reading. It also has a faster processor, extra battery life, IPX8 waterproofing and — finally — a USB-C port.

Beats Fit Pro and Studio Buds are each back at Prime Day prices. Starting with the Fit Pro, these wireless buds with wing tips to stay in your ears during runs and other workouts return to $179.99 ($20 off) at Amazon. In addition to being great workout companions, they feature active noise cancellation (ANC), a transparency feature that lets you keep track of the sounds going on around you, and they can last up to six hours per charge with ANC. Studio Buds are $99.99 ($50 off Amazon) and similarly, they offer ANC and transparency mode. Apple claims you’ll get up to eight hours of listening time per charge without ANC enabled. My colleague Chris Welch said in his review that the ANC is worse on the Studio Buds than on the Fit Pro. Both the Fit Pro and Studio Buds include a charging case with a USB-C port, though it’s important to note that neither option supports wireless charging. Read our review.

Beats Fit Pro headphones have built-in fin tips that help keep them secure during runs and workouts. They also have excellent noise cancellation and their sound has just the right amount of bass and kick to keep you motivated.

Beats Studio Buds

The Studio Buds from Beats offer iOS and Android support, with noise cancellation, a comfortable fit, and good sound quality for the price. These don’t have all the same features as AirPods, but their wider compatibility may make them the best choice for you.
