Britney Spears took to social media Saturday night to respond to ex-husband Kevin Federline’s recent exclusivity with Daily Mail. In a series of interviews with Daphne Barak set to air on ITV News later this week, Federline opened up about the pop star and her relationship with their two sons.

Federline claimed that their children, 16-year-old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden, “have decided not to see her at this time.” Federline also said the boys “made the decision” to skip Spears’ wedding earlier this year to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.

Federline and Spears married in 2004 before filing for divorce in 2007.

The two engaged in a highly publicized child custody battle afterward Federline won full custody of both sons in 2008, according to The Guardian. Soon after, Spears’ controversial conservative act began, which lasted 13 years.

Spears was released from the legal arrangement last November after a judge ruled to suspend her father Jamie Spears as her financial conservator.

After Federline’s interview went viral, both Spears and Asghari responded to his claims on Instagram.

On Saturday, Spears wrote on her Instagram Story: “I am saddened to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children… As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone ».

Spears shot down Federline’s claims that her sons are distancing themselves because of nude photos Spears shared on social media.

She added: “I gave them everything… Just one word: GUN.”

Spears concluded the post by claiming that her mother Lynne Spears encouraged her to give her children to Federline.

“During my term, I was under control and surveillance for almost 15 years … I only needed time off to take Tylenol !!!” wrote Spears.

Asghari, via Instagram Story, claimed that Federline’s goal is to “slam” Spears and criticized Federline for standing by her side while she was in custody.

“His character is revealed by the approval of a 13-year-old CShip, and his loyalty to Jaimie implies his approval at the time of his arrest… Anyone who approves is wrong or profiting from it in some way,” Asghari wrote.

Asghari followed up with another post, referencing Will Smith’s infamous Oscar slap sequence. “I wish him the best and hope he has a more positive outlook in the future for the benefit of all involved. But for now: Keep my wife’s name… out of your mouth.”

In the exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Federline said that Spears’ conservatism “saved” her and claimed that he “apologized” to his sons for the nude photos Spears shared on social media after her tenure ended.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe this is just another way he’s trying to express himself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what makes them. It’s hard. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a teenager who has to go to high school,” Federline said.

Reps for Spears, Asghari and Federline did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
