Hint and answer of today’s Wordle #414 Word of the Day, Sunday August 7th

Well, summer is almost over – if you’re my kids.

Summer will last until September 21st this year, with Fall unfolding on the 22nd. But my kids go back to school next Wednesday. What’s wrong with having such beautiful days and being stuck in a classroom. They have to do school outside until it gets cold outside. Kids need to learn how to play outside better these days anyway!

Either way, come rain or shine, school or summer — winter, spring or fall — we’ll be here to do our daily Wordle. I’ve had my best guess in months about today, which I take as a good omen.

Holy cow! I got it in just two! I can’t even remember the last time I got Wordle with only two guesses. Majestic!

The Wordle Bot honestly didn’t know what to say other than “You, Erik, are a god among men and should be made High King of all Realms! Your Wordle puzzle-solving prowess clearly knows no bounds! Thanks!”

Anyway, shame, which I tried because I had such good luck shine recently, he got me one green and four yellow. I played with “AME” and very quickly decided that the word would probably end in “R” and guessed blot. Good, shame It left me with only two possible answers, it turns out: blot and steam and I was lucky enough to guess the right one.

Lucky you say? Why, luck has nothing to do with it! Just incredible talent, clearly!
