Former US Army General Don Bolduc, a Republican candidate for US Senate in New Hampshire, blasted Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) in an interview with Breitbart News and said New Hampshire voters should support him because he is “a stranger who is not bought and paid for.”

Breitbart News Saturday Host Matthew Boyle opened the interview by asking Bolduc about his thoughts on the Senate Democrats’ latest reconciliation bill, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Bolduc told Boyle, “We’ve seen this movie before and it never ends well and it never ends well.”
“And we have the Biden administration, with the full support of Senator Hassan, almost 100% of the time voting for what? Undermine our energy independence, create inflation, make our borders insecure, cost Granite Staters and Americans millions and billions of dollars,” Bolduc said. “It is completely irresponsible, they are weak, mischievous, dangerous and extremely expensive.”
Stopping excessive government spending is a priority for Bolduc, who launched the “no spending caucus”.
He criticized Hassan for being part of the establishment that made life unbearable for most Americans.
“Maggie Hassan’s last 40 years in politics as a state senator, governor and now five and a half miserable years for the Granite Staters,” he said. “It does nothing but increase the size of government, raise taxes and is very irresponsible in its spending, although it claims otherwise.”
Bolduc distinguished himself from his opponent by touting his status as an outsider candidate not bought and paid for by big money organizations.
“I am the right candidate because, first of all, I am an outsider. I don’t get bought and paid for the facility in general,” Bolduc said.
Bolduc also highlighted the policies he plans to support if elected to the Senate this fall.
He said:
I’m not going down there to work for any single senator, I’m not going down there to work for any single party, even though I’m a Republican, I’m going to work for the Granite Staters and the American people and we’re doing the right common sense thing, to get our economy back where it needs to be, because we’re weak, and it just takes common sense to just reverse the energy policies, reverse the border policies.
“You need a common sense person who is foreign, who is not bought and paid for, I do not take money from Big Pharma, Big Education, Big Med, Big Tech. And so I’m going to be an independent senator down there,” Bolduc said. “And that’s how I’m going to operate, because I won’t be expected in my office before I’m even sworn in.”
Bolduc discussed his time in the military, where he served 36 years in the US Army and served ten tours in Afghanistan and Africa.
Bolduc went to Army basic training less than two weeks after graduating high school and worked his way up “to general, both in Afghanistan and Africa.”
He said:
You know, from Private to Sergeant, I served in the fourth ID and the 82nd Airborne Division as a private. I cut my teeth there from the bottom up and decided I was going to college. And it was the Green to Gold program through the Massachusetts National Guard. And, you know, going from enlisted to Lt. Green to Gold. Gold Bar was commissioned in 1988. Within two years, I had passed the Special Forces selection. And I went to Q class.
Bolduc said the 72 soldiers he lost in service are his “to serve every day.”
While serving in the military, Bolduc told his superiors “what they needed to hear, not what they wanted to hear.”
He also talked about standing up to former President Barack Obama’s former chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, when the administration changed its Afghanistan strategy.
“And I told him, I said, Hey, you’re changing strategy now and you’re never going to take Afghanistan back. And of course, that’s exactly what happened once Biden became president,” Bolduc said.
Speaking on foreign policy, Bolduc said President Joe Biden’s recent killing of terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri was not comparable to former President Donald Trump’s “great assassination” when he killed Iranian Qasem Soleimani.
“So this guy had a huge influence on it, but he was relatively ineffective. It’s not the big kill that the Trump administration made, you know, dealing with Iran like that,” Bolduc said. “Oh, you know how many times we wanted to do that? Right, but we didn’t make it. And then, you know, Trump comes in and says, Hey, we’ve got to get rid of this guy. And boom, we got rid of them.”
Bolduc said the messages from corporate media surrounding al-Zawahiri’s assassination are “just a bunch of administrative, administrative propaganda from the National Security Council’s disinformation coordinator, Admiral Kirby.”
