Wordle Today #415 Answer, Hint and Clues, Monday August 8th

Another day, another Wordle, another daily Wordle column from your humble storyteller and puzzle solver.

If you had told me when I was in college in the early 2000s that I would one day be writing a daily guide for a 5-letter word puzzle game that had taken the internet by storm, I wouldn’t have known what you were talking about.

Back then, there were no blogs yet. There was no social media to speak of until the launch of MySpace in 2003, and even then most people didn’t know what it was. I didn’t even have a “smartphone” until after I graduated.

However, I wanted to be a writer when I graduated and have been writing professionally for the past 12 years, so I’ll count that as a win. If sometimes that means paying the bills with some game guides and you can write what you love on the side, I’m fine with it.

Anyway, it’s Monday and we have a Wordle to solve. Let’s do it.

Today’s Wordle #415 Hint & Answer

First, spoiler alert. You have been warned. I’m also adding a “hint” below the hint that tells you something about the spelling or structure of the word, so extra double spoiler alert today!

Second, a clue: When you are unprepared or inadequate or not yet ready for something, you are that.

Third, a clue: This word begins with a vowel.

Fourth, the answer:

My initial guess narrowed things down to 154 solutions, which isn’t terrible but not great. However, it got me the “I” in yellow and blocked out a bunch of common letters. Brain was a solid second choice, putting ‘I’ in green, ‘N’ in yellow and reducing the possible solutions to just 6 according to Wordle Bot.

My third guess, solve, is exactly what our favorite robot friend would choose, and it left me with only one possible guess — or at least right guess. Turns out I wasn’t unable for today’s challenge. Huzzah!
